Good catch. The gunwales are about 1' wide and allow a full walk-around making access to the bow a breeze. The boat's overall beam is 9' and the cockpit around 7' wide.

I have to be extra careful pulling it into our 10' wide slip!

I must say that is one of the nicest boats iv'e ever seen! It looks like a donzi classic 22 stretched to a 33. Awesome!
