36 Gladiator
#2
I went to look at a gladiator at martin marine about 3 weeks ago. It looks like one incredible boat. What I didn't like was the cockpit is very narrow and very little freeboard between the top of the rearseat and the top of the gunnel seems like it would be one heck of a scarey ride sitting on that back seat. I also didn't like the fact that you have no access to the cabin from the cockpit you have to climb on the bow and go thru a deck hatch. I'm sure this boat would be ideal for some but I broke down and ordered a new 38 Top Gun!

XS: thanks for the info. I couldn't really tell what was up with the cabin by the photos or even the web site. I figured it had no cabin, but the website says cabin lighting, etc, is optional. I love the look of the boat though, will have to go see one soon!

I had the chance to run the Yacht's International boat (36 Gladiator) a little over a week ago it it is one sweet handling machine. Granted, this is a canopied race boat, but the hull is still the same as the pleasure version. I currently own a 2000 38' Top Gun TS and it too is a great handling boat. What it comes down to is personal preference because both of these boats are fantastic in my opinion.
