The bullet is a fantastic boat! I love everything about it! Its built like a tank and runs like a champ! Perfect Size!

Engine is back together, drive is on and it's spinning. Need to start it and break in the cam. I'm planning to be boating on the southside this weekend.

IMHO, you can't get a better wave crusher in the 30' range!

They should bring back the bullet. Maybe a twin step design!

I think I remember reading one of the forums around here that Cigarette wasn't making any money on the 30-31' boats so they stopped production. Don't know how much truth there was to it.

If they did, I guess it would compete with a 35' beak boat

Craig pretty well hit the nail on the head. At one point I've owned two Bullets and still have the '88 purchased in the early 90's. If your searching for a project go for it if your able to do a majority of the work including carpentry and fiberglass skills. On a unrestored Bullet most of the hatch and rear bench frame may be compost. When the factory glassed over wood imo it was a little sloppy. Glass does not take well to 90 degree angles unless its somewhat beveled. Water will eventually find its way into the voids and start the compost factor. The rear bench sat directly on the floor wicking water directly into the wood. This would be rotted up past the battery switch compartment. Very easy cure by trimming the bottom a half inch supporting onto starboard pads allowing water to drain correctly.
Other than that check the transom by the exhaust and drive holes. The factory only applied paint rather than a coat or two of resin. The waste holding tank may need some attention which is no big project. If the cabins headliner has not been replaced the foam usually starts to decompose over time.

The Cigarette is a great boat. I love mine! It is a heavy boat and does very well in the rough stuff, but it requires mega horsepower if you want alot of speed.

If you spend most of your time below 60 mph (or with the key off like I do), then you should put the Bullet on your "short list".
