I agree, to make an older boat (heavy) fly you need HP.
The flat deck i eas talking about has twinn 1100 HP but very reliable in the past 5 years (and he boats alot) not one problem.
The damn thing does 95+MPH and you can almost drink coffee doing so.LOL
Dont need alot of gas either.
Drives are prfect in and out, engines are very well maintainted dont see any problems with that setup at all.
Plus the boat is like new condition.
It all depents on what kind of motors and drives you have,if it gonna cost you or not to run a heavy boat at speed.
(ofcorse a newer boat with the same HP would be alot faster, but would it hold up that long?)
Newer layups ,and we all know that, are just not built to last.

Have a Freshwater 38' 1985 Flat Deck out of Chicago avail.
I've owned this Cig for past 10years. This is a steal at this price. Not the fastest but quite reliable! Perfect Big Water CIG.

Ok guys so I am looking at a cig, however within my budget I am looking at either a bullet, top gun or cafe racer.. Possibly flat deck 38
What can you advise me about the different hulls, weight, ride in the rough water.. and top speed..
Cafe racers really are what I am leaning to..
Thanks!!!

Well, the good news is if your budget is 80K, you should easily be able to find something in that range up to and including a Gun. The only problem I see is how fast you want to go. That will take some big power which can drive the price up.

5 years running 1100's "ALOT" and no troubles? 1 GPM? Does this guy boat with the Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny too?

The Cafe looks like its had some upgrades and looks good for a decent price.
The Bullet looks to have original dash, bolsters, cockpit vinyl, etc. That's too much money for no updates. The red/black tribal graphics one listed here seems to be a much better deal. Or the one Carter38 has.
There are plenty of Cig deals around right now.
