Well, Saturday I went out for what might have been the final run of the year. I was by myself, and there was a nice chop. I snapped on the life vest, and proceded to hook up the lanyard when I accidently pulled it out of the switch. --- The engines never missed a beat and the boat kept right on idling down the creek. Good thing i never needed it!

The switch isn't stuck, just didn't do anything. I haven't pulled the dash apart to troubleshoot yet.

This is not uncommon and the reason why we always include testing them on our pre underway checks and the reason all boaters are supposed to test them on thier pre and or post checks. It should not be a surprise at all.

I check mine every once in a while, either on purpose, or inadvertently.
