Also- the number is not posted for tire kickers and low ballers, if someone wants to call with 80k ready to go feel free, otherwise dont waste either of your time, he's been getting a bunch of BS calls with 60k offers, 50k offers, 70k with headers etc...... the boat is hardly for sale, and its by no means a must sell or fire sale, if someone wants it, on a steel beam trailer, with drives, canvas's etc... for 80k its yours, otherwise save your roll over minutes for the next deal

Boomer35-

Thanks for the info, but I never did call your father.....changed my mind about the boat and didn't want to waste his time.

hey Chad-

statement wasnt based at you at all, just in general, F2 boats are a fun boat, im half tempted to sell the mystique and take it off his hands myself, other then the fact i got a new born on the way (july 14th 2009!), im just not sure that boat will fit my new life style.......

My straight bottom F2 has a Cover Girl cabin only (No V-berth) and it's built very light. That's as much as Phil said he would do. He mentioned how well balanced the boat was and said he wouldn't want to ruin that. I'm sure that's the case with the rest of the F2 boats as well.

It is cool owning a former race boat. Typically get a lot of questions about it and they are definitely dialed in better than the majority of production boats but there are trade-offs. As was said earlier, they are worth what the buyer or seller feel they are worth. If the two parties reach an agreement - SOLD!:drink:

Well, I don't know if there are any downsides other than the cabin, which to us was not a downside :D. Our boat did not have an electric engine hatch. The only one that does is Speed Racer. That boat is definatley the closest to a pleasure boat. It has a full bench seat (as does Maxx) and the port side has all the gauges like a regular T/S does. Maxx has a few on the port side but it does not have the standard gauge set-up. I believe MAXX is still a bare bones cabin (you'd have to check with boomer though). However, one of the previous owners of Speed Racer, (JBK) painted the cabin white and put down some lonseal flooring. Here are the cabins in the 3 boats. First one is the Lip-Ship, 2nd is MAXX (as it was when we looked at it a few years ago) and third is of Speed Racer.

Old thread, Im bored.....winter sucks...............LOL......Speed Racer has twin aluminum 75 gal. tanks

Your red vinyl bulkhead cover is upside down. I made it to go the other way. It should fit a bit tighter then. :)

It’s in front of the yard house in Long Beach California circa 2003ish during one of the SCOPE lunch runs. Jeff Cheng owned your boat at the time. Gary Sanchez owned the cafe in the foreground before he owned one of the other F2 guns later. Nort’s formula (phantom chaos on here) and running with the devil #6 Gun in the background next to your boat built by Ron songrath and yes, the cafe in the very far background is the same in the running pic. Can’t remember who owned it at the time.

i do obtain a whole lot of useles boating information but I think I was actually there when that pic was taken. Best time of my boating life was the early / mid 2000’s with the scope crew. I think if you ask anyone that was there then, they’d agree. It was just one of those perfect times. A lot of fun.

F-2 Speedy 02-05-2018 02:48 PM

I had a talk with the Illustrious one the other day, he told me alot about the boat as far as trim and attitude, and some good stories that only he can tell....good guy for sure. O ya, and he said its fast...really fast.

Croozin2 on here has the only straight bottom F2 they built. It now has a cover girl cabin but I think it ran high 70’s when it raced?

I have the Team Virgin F2 TG.

Bobby, wasn’t that the old Havoline race boat that Phil re did. Don’t forget there was the cloud boat that was a single step. Then there was the single step that was sponsered by Marin... that one you see in the timeline in the cig Smokin book. I saw that boat on 188th across from the plant next to Bobby Moore’s back in the day. It was actually parked right next to Craig Barry’s little tunnel. Most don’t remember that boat. I am thinking it was repainted as the cloud boat. From what I can tell there were only two single steps. The cloud and Bousels/Rice Hauler....

Yes on the Havoline boat and I’m pretty sure you’re correct on the single steps too.

That's one of the reasons a stock 38 T/S with stock 525's run in the mid 80's. They weigh about 12,000 lbs

And the Lucky Strike F-2 with the same stock 525's ran 93 mph. Plus all 4 are balanced much better.

Man that’s awsome to be able to go that fast with that reliable conservative power lol. I’m looking for 85 when it’s all said and done. It should be really light
