You could put a V-6 in a dually, and it will still be more qualified to HANDLE a larger load than a single rear wheel truck with a diesel.
They calculate on the ability to safely handle mass, not pull it quickly.
Contrary to popular belief also is when you lift a 3/4 ton truck it does not increase the towing capacity. It actually lowers it exponentially. Same with a dually or anything else.

"Always liked the paint on that cafe. My buddy had the same paint scheme/boat (Lip-Ship added the yellow later). Awesome running too! Cafe's are great boats. Can't believe they only want 40k."
The paint was in great shape when sold. Like I said, always loved the ride. When I sold this, I went to a 38 Sonic for the room and that was nice, but couldn't get away from a Cig ride so went back and bought Jeremy's Tiger. By the way, the Sonic is for sale in classifieds (again sunk a ton of money in it that I will never see).

You'd be crazy to tow that thing with a 3/4 ton in my opinion.
You'll be pushing 14-15k by the time you are loaded up. I think they were 9600 dry - add 1500 in fuel, 500 in "other stuff", 1500 for the trailer, other small stuff that adds up quick (swim platform, hydraulic steering, tie bar,), coolers of beer and cheap hooch.....It's a lot of weight for my F350 dually, I can't imagine it behind much less - that doesn't even broach the ever present insurance/liability piece of it.
I am sure some people will tell you you'll be fine, but from my experience - I wouldn't consider it.

Who thinks lifting it raises tow capacity? I hope there aren't too many of those guys on the road.

Sold about 3 years ago. No issues with it at that time. Due diligence with motors, leakdown, compression tests would be recommended. Unless he sunk boat or wrecked it, there is not issues with glass - still shined with no stress cracks. I towed with Dodge 2500 diesel with NO problems. Towed to Florida many times. Trailer is a south florida and it is plenty of trailer for boat but don't know what type of shape it is in now. As I said when that boat got me home from the Bahamas in 8 to 10's (yes they were), it is a dam good boat.

If this is still around towards spring I might have to check it out. The only issue is towing as I just bought an 08 2500. I've been planning on a 28, but with deals like this.....
