2001 Top Gun T/S....$100k
Well guys..... the seller and I had agreed upon a price, I had made arrangements to have a compression check and leakdown, drove 8 hrs with money in hand, but after looking at the boat, I decided to pass on it. I've learned over the years that what seems like a good deal at first isn't always as good as it seems.....you get what you pay for. The owner is a nice guy and honest in every way. I'm sure he will sell the boat....it simply wasn't what I had expected.
It is all yours customryder!!! :drink: |
hours on it?

Wait, wait, wait...What happened to all the B.S.?! "it's sold...it's gone...100k took it...That's what the owner got in the end for it...." Just more people trying to make themselves feel better and hoping T/S's will start selling for straight bottom prices so they can afford one??:rolleyes:
Thanks for posting the FACTS Chad. |
Tank,
Whatever do you mean? That you can't buy a like new T/S Topgun for short money? That prices are not going to keep fallin till they hit zero? That you get what you pay for? How ridiculous. |

I didn't get home until late last night....I got caught up in the traffic fiasco north of Memphis. It turned an 8 hr trip into a 12 hr trip home. Dreamer- Jeff is correct....approx 280 on the hour meters. |

Sorry it did not work out for you.. I was just looking for a opinion on the boat.. Again I dont want it... I wish you hadn't deleted your thread! I had replied to you, regarding your comment on being thankful you're not in a $500k+ boat in this period of time. You wouldn't be able to flip those boats as quickly as you do with others, and avoid being required to tag the boat as a result. Also, a lot of $500k+ boats were paid for with actual money in the form of a check, instead of having to pay some ridiculous interest rate spread over 30 years. These aren't the boats that can be bought for firesale numbers, since many of their owners can actually afford the boat and what comes with it. Many are selling to buy a bigger, or nicer boat. That does not reflect a "need" to sell, or a reason to take below wholesale offers. Contrary to a few strange beliefs of some folks, there are actually people out there that have the money to buy these boats, and wait for their price when it's time to move on to the next one. |
Well Put!!!

Some one buy mine.
http://www.powerboatlistings.com/view/6425 I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I'll rate mine as a 9.9 out of 10. Yeah, I know everyone over rates their boats - hoping you'll buy it anyway after traveling so far or thinking "it'll clean up" - I found all of that when I was originally looking to buy. You will find my boat as one of the finest available - No BS, no fluff, no disappointment. However - it won't be sold at fire sale price either. The price reflects it's pristine shape. You won't need to sink a bunch of money in it either. |
Where's the listing on the "100k Cig"? Pictures? I know Jeff posted the link to the pics in his other thread but it's been deleted. Anyone have the link to the pics?

Forget the condition, that boat is ug-a-lee.
|
The kicker is the actual price. The seller may have mentioned that he would take $100k for it, but once he talked to a couple of dealers he raised his asking price to $125k. The price we had agreed upon was less than $125k, but a lot more than $100k. I think the seller said he had two other offers....one of which was $125k. I figured it needed $20k in paint repair, interior, gauges, cockpit cover, swim platform repair, trailer repair, etc. Who knows about the engines and drives. It showed a lot of saltwater use and overall neglect.
|
Jawbreak, don't buy it if you are not happy..you have plenty to choose from and you will eventually find something you like...take your time..theres one out there for you...just be patient and you will be part of the CIG #1 crew soon..:ernaehrung004:

That boat has always been lower on price than the rest as well. I remember when Martin Offshore had it for sale years ago, and it was a good $25-$30k less than the comparable boats for sale at the time. I saw it in person a few times back then, and it looked just as good as the rest of theirs as far as the condition. You'll find a better one! :drink: |

So, if a tired, old, salty, worn out ,ugly Topgun is still worth $100K, what,s Blumes like new 05 Gladiator worth now?
|
I'd say a clean 179k..easy!!!!!!!!!

if it isnt one thing its another, I'll have to paint it, I dont like the motors, the kinibling pin is all wrong for me..I dont like a boat with a left facing johnson rod, and the exhaust is 2 decibels too loud..gimme a freakin break. you guys found a twin step for 100 K the only one to man up was jbk... He had money and went, and he saw what he would have gotten. no wonder no boat dealers want to work with you guys...
to me that just made blumes boat worth more... |
