I understand what your saying, but do you agree that if there are no buyers, there is no market??? People can keep thinking their boats are worth those telephone numbers, when it comes to cash in hand and a sale its a different story. Good for them and have fun with the same boat for the next 25 years because you wont come to reality with what everything is really worth now. I also understand that not everyone has to blow their boat out, but with the way everything is going in our country, if they ever want to sell their boat, they are going to take that hit, now or 5 years from now.

if you drive around and look at boat yards, I think you will agree with me that most of the stuff sitting in the yards isnt worth the space it takes up, and that is going to get worse and worse to the point where stuff cannot even be sold so people will either be giving the old crap away or scrapping it

so if people judge the market price by what is for sale and the asking prices I guess your right, but I judge the market by what has sold and for what price recently.........i just want you to answer one question for me: What do you think will happen if this keeps getting worse and a $150K TS TG cant even bring $50K because people are hurting so bad??? And dont even say you would buy it because thats the same thing people were saying about a $150K TG 6 months ago

Seller holds all the cards for what a boat will sell for, or it won't sell. Whether he doesn't like your bid, or just doesn't like you. This is not an open/free market like the stock market. Each boat is different, and cared for differently. And there are only 2 out there for sale?
How come every thread about a guy looking for a boat turns into the same thing?
Does anyone know a boat for this guy?
I think sean's Cafe is a nice updated boat. That's my $0.02.
Edit... or Cigrocket's mistress.

I sold my boat for what I did because I wanted it gone ASAP. I had over 25 calls, a ton of emails, and a buyer ready to fly out that next day which tells you it was cheap. I didnt want to deal with showing it a ton of times or dealing with time consuming surveys. My deal was that whoever showed up with the money was taking the boat and I took a discount for that. If I had the time I could have maximized my selling price but instead I have my business to run and I enjoy my weekends.

That is precisely the point I'm making. We will not see a time in the near future that a well kept TS Gun won't bring $50k, because quite simply, there are plenty of people that can afford to pay that number and more. Some buyers need to stop thinking they are the only game in town, and that no one can afford to pay more than they might want to.

I definitely would NOT buy a TS Gun for $50k, because I can promise you it would likely be the biggest pile of chit I've ever seen. You can absolutely low ball these boats to death, because not many bright people want to buy a heap of junk to spend months and lots of extra money to make nice again.

I disagree because a year ago there were people on here saying that there wouldnt be a time in the near future when you could buy a TS TG for less than $150K.........

I dont think to many HAVE SOLD for that price. And if they did I would guess they had to drop 20k to make them right.

My question is:

If the seller has no say in the matter, then why are so many that share the opinion you posted, still boatless? I could understand if boats were consistently selling for these lowball offers, but they're not? The same people that swear they know how to buy, and what the market is, are still being denied? It almost sounds like the ones shopping think everyone selling are being forced to, and have to take any offer?
The seller has a say in the matter, but if their say is to price it too high for the market, it won't sell. Therefore, the collective buyer's have a say as well.

In the case of a Mystique at a dealer in Texas which hasn't sold for over a year, and nobody seems to agree with his pricing, I'd say he's overpriced, not that all buyers aren't real.

For me, I can't swing what he's asking so it doesn't really matter to me, but it appears that price is too high.

The one that sold was clearly priced to move (I know, I thought I was in line to buy it) and when the market of available Mystiques was 3, and 2 have been for sale for over a year, I'd say that the market has spoken on these boats and what they're "worth". There are many more buyers than just the OSO group here, and they seem to agree.

Now for TS Guns, etc, that is a different world because there are so many available, and such a wide range of conditions. I don't think they're worth nothing, but I also don't think any prices are ever increasing on current boats. A 5 year old boat will soon be 7 years old, and gas will only be going up. When a cash buyer comes and isn't lowballing, I'd think it'd be time to talk.

So, is 65K lowballing on the Texas Mystique?

Dont get it too confused now, i would say the mystiques for sale have only spoken "worth" about THOSE 2 mystiques for sale, when i was buying they were both in my price range, i didnt like the paint and i didnt like 496's. Infact the one i bought wasnt for sale, i just happen to hear it was for sale a few months earlier and i picked up the phone and asked him if he wanted to talk... come to find out he was in a little bit of a pinch and just about to list it anwyay

Bmans went because it had everything going for it, an awesome paint job, 500 efi's and PRICE

cash is king and it's only worth what the buyer is willing to pay period. i'm no sure why somany sellers are holding out for the top dollar when all the have to do is lower the price like the guy that just sold the 30 cig then go and buy something else at a reduced rate and save yourself the pain of selling something and get on with the enjoyable hunt for the new ride.
