Years back, my wife and I were tooling around Frenchman's Bay (Bar Harbor) Maine in our 18 Donzi. We pulled into the harbor to find Malcolm Forbes' "Highlander" yacht. He had a beautiful 20' Cigarette and a 22 Donzi on deck. both boats were painted dark metallic green to match the yacht. Could it be the same boat?

Biggus - It likely was. Highlander travels a lot up and down the East Coast. Highlander was here again last year (Baltimore Harbor) and I posted about it. They redid the 20 taking away the thru-hulls and switching from TRS to Bravos.

I was able to buy it on Ebay of all places, for much less than I should have, if I were to start from scratch building one.

Man I WISH, I could take credit for designing the 20 being advertised! The one's that Phil has built have ALL been just perfect.

They are just toys, no different than an extra sportscar/JEEP/etc to play around with. I never planned to make money on it, and I doubt anyone else that's really redone one does either to an extent.
I think you guys missed my point. What I was trying to convey is that it is a great boat (no matter who did it) and someone who doesn't understand the mystique (pun intended) of 20 Cigarettes shouldn't trash talk the price.

That's probably a very discounted price for that 20. Order a new one from Phil (I think he has one left)and I'm sure you will get educated quickly as to their value. Plus, there will be no more produced. Very expensive, high build quality powerboats!

It had to be the same boat and I have a hard time telling the difference between black and green.

I have seen three of the four 20’s that were built up close and have rode on Dino’s. It is arguably the nicest of the four built IMHO.
When you consider what they cost new and that they are no longer made. The person who buys this boat is going to get one hell of a deal. If someone wanted a new 20 built I am sure that it would be twice the asking price of this one if you could talk Cigarette into allowing another one to be built.
This boat is perfect in every way.
It is out of my price range but it doesn’t stop me wanting it. I guess I will have to just keep wishing that it was in my garage.
There is a Glaidator out there with matching paint. (I will keep wishing)

Mine was done in memory of my brother so to me mine is priceless. Even with that said I will own a Lip-Ship 20 and the one I want is only on the market to me I just don’t have the room for it right now. Soon very Soon!

Ahhh, gotcha, gotcha.

That's correct! 100% of why I got mine, was because as a kid I had an F-206 Spider, so the 20ft Cigarette was my dream boat. I said I'd have one at some point, and the opportunity presented itself. The 28 became the next dream, loved it, and so on.

This pics says what words can't about how I like my 20!

I'd like to have Tom's I think. I really like the paint/dash, and of course the power is crazy. I liked that silver one the Russian ordered too, but the 496 is a little small for what I want the boat for.
