It has 572's that Dyno at 850HP at 4750 rpm with SSM3's Gaffrig tube headers... The boat is a rocket ship for this vintage of Cigarette's and runs in the 80,s and the fastest on GPS was 88 MPH... It has been sitting for over 7 yrs. but always started every season.
I Love this boat and never wanted to sell it... I am either going to start running it again or sell it...I am in my early 60's and getting the bug to do something.... I have no idea what the boat is worth now....Maybe some of you guys on the Forum can give me an idea on the value of this boat...
Kind Regards
Jim
Hey Jim, Nice history and sounds like a nice piece there. I owned a 1985 35' Mistress for 6years w/race fairing and #3SSMs, Stelling full tube headers, 454/496 blocks, 250 B&M blowers, dyno'd low 600's, best was 74.7 GPS. All original paint ... loved the boat too, but I wanted(wife) something diff for couple/few years ... it's now 1 year later and I got(quickly getting) the bug again So maybe you should hold out and run her some more ... cuz you would cry for what I sold her for in Oct/2009. Had way more than triple or 4x that amt of $$$$ into her.

I would guess even with the history and big CI motors, etc you could be looking hi 20's /low 30's(trailer??) or maybe 40's if perfect & very lucky. Then again, could be pristine? or 7yrs weathered? So would take a bit of surveying to determine what price range it would really fall into, but it's still not a good market to be selling/trying to sell these, "older", go-fast, Cigs, unfortunately.

Anyway if you want any specifics on my sale drop me a PM.

Regards and good luck whatever you decide.
Chris

Jim, keep the boat and start running it again. You'll get the hang of it real quick and be glad you did.

Hi Again.... I think I want a 38 Top Gun and I think I am going to sell my boat..... Would I be better to part it out or sell it complete? In the 90's I had the boat Re Gelcoated and there there were areas that has liffted and that was one of the reasons I wasn't using the boat...so it would need to be repaired and I think that won't be cheap.. It has 850hp 572ci high dollar motors with the best of everything and were built by a famous Nascar engine builder that knew his stuff these motors are Bullet Proof... and SSM3's with Gaffrig big tube headers.. I was thinking about parting it out Motors/Drives/Headers/ Transmissions/ Boat and trailer?
What would be your suggestions....
Thank You
Jim

Hi There.... I was thinking of keeping the motors.... Let me think about that....I will either sell the boat with the drives or I will part it out... Not sure what would be the best way... I also have Tube Headers for this boat if I part it out... Let me know what you think...
Thank You
Jim

I remember that boat coming up to the Chartroom in Racine in the mid 80's, and also a guy named crazy george who had a 27SS . My dad had a 24 Pantera back then and we use to run next to them when they came up
