WOW.....Funny that I'm just now looking to buy a Cigarette. This ones a Li'l big. This guy has to be rich and got distracted for some reason or another. The price is right for this boat. Even if it did need a transom. That's probably the least of worries if you're doing the work yourself and allready have everthing out. Makes me sad to see that nice Oval with the '1' inside it, and then see the back of the boat. I'd a put gas in that thing and drove it 1nce a month for free for the guy!!!!

So that puts you at roughly $18k plus transport add that to the $25k you are willing to payplus labor if you have some one do the work and you are right at the price of Seans boat with new XR drives and new 496's with freash water cling plus a trailer.
Well put... plus mine's right on Long Island.

This is the second boat I've redone including the 28SS "OSO Bicycle" Figure to spend twice what you've budgeted... and I do alot of the stuff myself...I leave the heavy lifting to the professionals at Falcon Hi Performance.

Sick Stinger...if you are serious about a Cafe, you should have a look at my boat...for about 25k more than that boat on the west coast you could have a turnkey fresh water cooled Cafe that will run 70mph. Wanna go faster? add some whipples... wanna more updated look? add graphics....

you'll spend less on my boat to get ALOT more...

You are 100% correct . I have restored several boats and always spend way more than I can get for them.

That is why you buy one already re-done. Let them eat the expense......

They all feel too big until you get use to them. When I first got behind the wheel of my Cafe I thought it was Massive. Doesn't seem like that now. When I first hooked it up to the trailer, I thought to myself "how could anyonne feel comfortable towing anything bigger", but you get SO used to it SO fast.....

I have to say I would rather have the Merc closed water cooled motors then those gm crate motors that need work. Add a set of headers and add an easy 25 hp. or go with the Raylar update to 525hp. The hull has not changed from 86 to 95, he only difference is Sean boat did not sit in the water for months. I have a 93 and have put crazy money into this thing and I am going to have it painted this winter because I just can't bring myself to give it away to someone else for pennies on the dollar. In my opinion Sean is willing to do that....his loss will be someones gain. Cafe's are big heavy boats and it takes some power and set up to make them run fast, but they will run in 3-4 footers at their max speed. I personally would never buy a project boat because what you see with problems is only scratching the surface.

The choice is yours, but to view Sean's Cafe as 87 vs. 95 is doing it an injustice IMO.
