frickstyle, I'll send you pictures on my Mistress tonight if you send me your e-mail address. I live in the north east corner of North Carolina about 30 miles from Norfolk Va. My Mistress is on a trailer and only needs minor work.

You like the cafe because the windshield/deck lines are different - arched back as opposed to straight across. There is a strong appeal there that people can't always put their finger on.

The Jump from the 27 to the cafe or top gun is the same jump. The extra 2.x feet make no difference, so don't let that be a determination if you run across a nice Gun.

That being said - look at Harvey's boat. It is known around here and everything I have ever heard on it is positive.

I am sure you are aware but buying a cafe that needs a major rebuild will end up providing you with one of the most expensive entries into performance boating ever. In my opinion there is so much to do and so many wrenching opportunities on ANY boat that is 20 years old that you might want to save your energy for those times, and buy one that is already done - there will be so many opportunities for your father and you to wrench on it - I PROMISE!!

Joe's Cafe was a couple down from it, we were at PutinBay for Octoberfest Saturday night (I stayed, he came back). Justin,
That was actually my buddy Lyn's boat. We were back on the rack. I was back home and gave it an oil change. I did hear Joe come back that saturday.. The cafe sounded good. I do know our old 35' Mistress is forsale around Windsor Canada. Not sure of the shape it is now but, It was a wave crusher.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, that's why I really enjoy this website, good community going on here. My email address is [email protected] , please send pics of the Mistress and any others.

I guess I was looking for a hull only because of some personal reasons, including having something different, I know some of you can relate. I am aware that the cost is up there, I'm not trying to cut corners here. I agree that buying a boat that either needs assembly or already has power is a smart move, but I'm hard headed! This is not something I'm looking to have in the water in the spring, unless a nice powered boat comes up. I'll chase these leads, thanks again. That Cafe up in Mentor, Ohio looks reeeeaaaal nice!......

I have an 86' Cafe with 557" tunnel ram motors, Huber 1200's and upgraded #3 ssm's on a triple axle trailer I will let go for $45K. Boat runs strong just needs some TLC. I would also sell with out power for $30K.
