Bullet VS Outlaw

As a Formula owner (for now) who has recently driven a 30 Baja and a 35 Cafe, I have to say that its really hard to compare them, they are both great boats, but their target audience is completely different.
The Baja is fast, its fun and light and gets on plane in an instant. Sort of like driving a tricked out go cart.
The Cigarette is a beast! It could care less about rough water and just goes. A little slower out of the hole, but it could care less about rough water. Water that would have the Baja sailing is water that is just getting the Cigarette warmed up.
As a comparison, I have a friend with a 43' Scarab, and the 35 Cafe handles the rough stuff just as well as it does, at least in the limited rough water time I've spent in either. The Baja will run right there in smoother water.
As my buddy with the Baja likes to say, he can run off and hide until the water gets rough, then he figures he will be pulling into the docks while everyone else is already tired up enjoying a drink.
As for the lines, yes, they both look great running across the lake, no about about it!

We were having this friendly debate Saturday night with the two guys who own the Bullet and the Outlaw. I want to put this debate to bed once and for all. The Baja is half the price of the Cigarette and gets on plane in no time and is pretty fast with stock power (496's non ho) boat goes 75mph. The Cigarette is yes more expensive, does not come on plane as quickly, and will not go 75 with that power in fact it will need 300+ more horse power and some chop to get there. So if the Baja goes faster gets on plane quicker and costs half as much why does everyone want a Cigarette or compare their boat to one? My guess would be because somewhere along the way they got in some rough water and got their a$$ kicked and a Cig went by like nothing or they have gone for a ride. The truth is the Cig is heavier and has better build quality and a much better ride but yes it will be slower in flat water with the same power. Why don't we move on and compare the Pontiac Solstice with a Porsche 911 next

There is something so be said about having your family feel safe while cruising along @ 55mph when all the "faster" boats can't seem to fly level or keep their props in the water...
