That boat was kind of a base boat with no additional extras.

in all seriousness... they're 525's, headers and drives. have the major components gone thru before you agree to purchase. if it all turns out fine, you pick-up the mechanic bill. otherwise, have the seller pay --- as it was not disclosed prior.

no big deal. ...and, it's amazing what the seller will often 'then' share with you...

when steve owned it, i can not remember seeing him run it in excess of 70, or so, MPH. he drove it quite easily.

however, as previously stated, i do not know the new owner, nor the history since it was sold to him.

hope that helps,

joe

The boat was at Hideaway Marina in Pompano over Christmas. It looked like it was in great shape on the exterior. I did NOT see the interior of the boat (it was covered on the trailer). No dings, scratches, etc on the boat. Again, looked to be in real nice condition. Outdrives, tabs, etc looked perfect.

With a lot of hours on the 525's like 350 to 400 they need to be rebuilt, what is the coast of that 7 to 9k a side?

A good rebuild including new pistons, new valves,liters,re-balance etc with new couplers, starters filters,tune-up ,re-paint dyno test and break in usually comes in around 10-12k depending on what parts get re-used,of course some shops will be a little more or less, the big expense is the headers 5700 dealer cost from merc, can be bought for a little less sometimes thru different outlets,I am re-doing 4 at my shop now all had low hours(around 100) and took a beating from exhaust leaking water into engine, cmi claims the exhaust are holding up well in fresh water but people running in salt aren't flushing and salt build up causing the problems, they have made several changes over the past years to improve life.So if you do a major rebuild with new headers 15-17k could easily be spent on each engine
