Default 28 SS batteries

My 28 SS is ready for new batteries, it is still configured for the stock 3EE's which dosen't give me a very good battery.

Is there a reason I wouldn't want to change the battery tray's for conventional batteries, if so, should I just build the new trays for a battery or a battery box?

What are the thoughts on battery disconnect switches, and where did you put them, it's pretty crowded in there.

Doug - I agree, I not a fan of those old style batteries. My '74 had the setup you currently have. My '79 had newer style batteries under the back seat with the switched mounted on the bulkhead facing into the cockpit. As far as trays, some of the marine sites run closeouts on certain colors from time to time or someone here might have some for sale.

Barry,

Thanks for the reply, I was planning to remove the old battery frames and make new frames for group 27's in cases with the same mounting holes. I hadn't heard of color choices for the cases, just the basic white with red top or all black.

I need to find a place for the switches, just not much room in there and I want to keep the cables as short as possible.

I just got the steering cable, looks great and I can't wait to install it!
