I am not really familiar with TRS ratios. All I know is that I bought at 1979 20' Cigarette with a TRS and 350 small block from a guy, blew the motor, and my buddy built a small block with a blower that dynoed over 525 hp so I popped that motor in and it runs great!! Boat runs amazing and maybe Parnels and I GPSs might be off but we were both at 75mph. Not trying to compare a 20' Cig with a 24' Pantera with an 8' beam and probably weighs a couple thousand pounds more and from what I remember has an outboard?? Or a 28' Cig which I used to own.

Cool boat CJ. I'll bet it is a ton of fun.

E-rock 04-17-2010 02:16 PM

Thats my motor that CJ has in his boat. When it was dyno'd it put out 512 horse and 525 foot pounds of torque, at 5500 rpm's (3 pounds of boost). We were running 75 mph at 4500 rpm, and I can tell you that the motor was definately not running at its peak or anywhere near 5500. I didnt get a chance to look at the gear ratio on the trs however, we should not have had a problem spinning it up to 5500. all thats really left to say is that when we find that extra grand......stand by!

Sounds great man, just let me know in plenty of time! I've got a LOT going on right now, so planning is kind of essential for once, lol. :drink:

Good luck with the run today CJ! Let us know how it went later on. :coolcowboy:

CJ, the guy in the other thread has a black hawk for 2500, that would really kick it up a bit. looks great have fun with it!

Sorry if ya think I am being a Dik, but first of all the 24 Pantera has a 6'7" Beam, and yes I have an outboard, but RPM is RPM, and gear ratio is gear ratio, 75 MPH at 4500 with a 23 does not compute?? You would have to have a seriously low gear ratio, and almost no slip. To change from a 23 to a 21 would only yield approx. 200 RPM, not 1100. The boat I was referring to as "Tim's" was a 28 Pantera with twin 415HP 502's, not a Cig, but since Tim works for Cig, we will forgive that one:drink: Please get some video next time out, and if all is true, I would like to pay your way to South FL to help me set up your boat, cuz you got the miracle setup there:grinser010:

BLee 04-18-2010 11:23 AM

Mine runs 85 at 5400 rpms, & 75ish at 4500-4700 rpms. I am however running a Bravo with a 21.
