I hope you're wrong. Sold mine mid April, and kinda enjoying not being owned by a boat (right now).

At least you sold yours. I've had mine for sale for over 2 years and only had 3 phone calls. Not one person has even looked at it. 1994 Cig Top Gun with trailer. Less than 50 hours on twin SC600's. Freshwater! Only $75000. I would take less if someone offered and I would pay the difference to the bank just to get rid of the bank note. I ran the boat a total of 4.5 hours last year. I don't use it enough to justify spending $10000/year to let it sit in the garage.

It's not a cig but I sold my 382 in Feb.....bought a 21 ft CC. Not regretting it yet but I can see there will be days that I do. The boat was paid for so taking the cash made the transition easier.

Unfortunately, the economy and state of the marine industry has killed the values of all of these older boats. If your boat is in good shape, it would have been a 75K-90K boat just a few years ago.....but now with all of the repos and fire sales that have happened...it's not worth 60K. That's the sad reality of the situation. Financing would be tough to get unless someone had stellar credit and a bunch of cash to throw down on it.

Don't take this the wrong way, I'm in the same boat. I've got an '88 TopGun with #6 drives and fresh 800's that looks pretty much like new boat. A few years ago I imagine that could have sold it for between 100-120K and now I seriously doubt that I could get 75K for it. I'm just glad it's paid for. I plan to keep it and they can use it for a coffin when I die. :D:drink:

As many of you know I have just gone through mine, selling it in this market was not an option I would rather update and use it instead of giving it away. H20 I loved your boat and also love the 40ss Formula I was wondering how that would go I guess now I know. Kramer you where my inspiration on redoing my boat. Don't get me wrong I would love to move into a newer boat in the next couple of years but figured right now with the economy the way it is why not enjoy what I have instead of having a $100,000 note right now.

I think what you are seeing is the banks are not going to loan on these old boats. No offense to anyone out there but you need a cash buyer or just hold on to it which I plan on doing with the next boat. I also think that the prices were way off from where they should of been and now you are almost seeing the real numbers. I sold mine and the same thing was true as many of you guy's with boats. Boats IMO were not really worth what we thought much like housing. Sucks for me I am saving to put money down on a boat and would not mind one bit of having a older Cig but to get a loan may not allow me to do so. Even with great credit question is it just as hard to get insurance? Trust me when I say this guy's if you love boating half as much as I do selling and not having another even with saving the money SUCKS! Every nice day you will think about it every time you pass the lake same thing it SUCKS but it's not forever.

I figured out that my Cigarette would not sale, mainly because of the economy. Oh Well, better to be stuck with a Cigarette than a Baja!
