Same here,

When I moved to Fl, I knew nobody, except my future wife(who was in college down here), and her friends, none of which were into boating. I myself was not into performance boating at the time, and had a 23 foot Wellcraft Bowrider, and a cabin cruiser. One day I made a post on the boards about meeting up at Peanut Island, and Tim(who was also new to FL at the time) answered, and met me at the Delray ramp. I had one hell of a time on the ride up, trying to keep up with his 28 Pantera, and I kept thinking, this guy must hate waiting for me. We got to the island, and hung out for a bit, then we left the wives on my boat at Peanut, and Tim took me Offshore in his boat. It was my first time in an Offshore boat, and to this day I am HOOKED, and havent been the same since. Good luck to Tim!!!!
