Playboy Cigs?

Did it only come in a 35? What years?

Von Bongo 07-21-2010 10:10 PM

yes limited edition 35 twin steps. Not sure on years but I think 00 to 02

seafordguy 07-21-2010 11:06 PM

Since noone has replied I'll take a stab.

They are all 35 T/S models. I think I remember reading there were 12 in total made 5 of which had the Mahogony floors. Years are all early 2000's - probably what Von Bongo said. They aren't all dressed in the black hull w/ playboy livery - there are other color schemes as well.

I would verify anything I said other than the length piece....

dreamer 07-22-2010 08:22 AM

late 2000 to 2002
4 full playboy livery 3 black 1 white
total 12
2003 2-4 rebadged as mistress or top gun

Quinlan 07-22-2010 06:12 PM

Seems like I remember a Gray 38 somewhere? maybe just painted up that way.

That is a repaint. They never made a 38 Playboy.

It just sold recently. Lots of drama surrounding it because the owner let it sit in the water for long periods of time!

That boat didn't look bad when I saw it, and Phil never mentioned anything horrific. In fact, it appeared to be very clean.

There were two white Playboys...A Lip-Ship Edition and a standard edition. The one Sam posted was the one that was reported to have issues. Sat in the water in NY I think for long periods of time.

Yup, I remember hearing the same thing.. It sat for a while up at Ocean Performance. I remember seeing it there.

It was Boston harbor.

How come Phil never mentioned this? Is this all hearsay? He did mentioned that they blew a motor in the boat, other than that, nothing. I'm confused, seems as this subject has been beaten to death in a previous thread.

What part, that there was two playboys (see photos) or that one had some type of issues from sitting in the water? The sitting in the water damage is hearsay as far as I'm concerned cause I never saw the boat and don't know personally. I only mentioned the thread and that there was drama. Im sure the thread could be easily located.

All the stuff about the all white boat with mahogany floors that it had sat in the water for long periods of time. The only thing I saw wrong with that hull when I looked at it, was a few srapes from lift truck forks.

The boat was clean. I could see no evidence of it being abused. LIke I said, dead issue. Someone purchased the boat and I'm sure they are very happy with it, nice ride.

pm203 07-24-2010 09:10 AM

I don't think that Phil was in Boston for the first several years of this boat's life. How would he know? He wouldn't. I'm sure the the boat was polished, buffed, acid washed numerous times by numerous people before it ever reached Phil.

frickstyle 07-24-2010 09:15 AM

anything's possible.

Ahhh, yea, I hear ya. Like I said, I don't really know the true story on it just that there was some drama surrounding it. Like you said, it's sold and I'm sure the owner is happy (nice boat at a nice price). Plus Phil doesn't let anything leave his shop with out being in tip top condition, so if there were issues I'm sure they were dealt with properly.

Also, PM is right, if you weren't there to witness it, how would you really know? I'm sure a complete survey would uncover any issues of concern.

I know, I know...Like I said, I haven't made up my mind yet but I've been toying with the idea...I just don't get to use it as much as I'd like to and boating out here is very limited. Trust me, after everything that I've done to her, I really don't want to sell it...I guess only time will tell.

You may be referring to what was Tricky's Playboy. From my understanding he changed the color scheme to it's current state and sold it to Sam69. I purchased her from Sam69 a couple of years ago. Here are before and after pics. if I don't screw this up.

Thats my old boat, i was previously Tricky a few years back and just rejoined. Boat looks great. How is she running?

skmulligan 08-11-2010 08:16 PM

She's running great. She now terrorizes a lake in East TN.

So help me out. I may have my history incorrect. Did Sam69 buy her from Tricky or you?

I am Tricky, i rejoined after a few years away from boating under Pez Man. That boat treated me right, i miss it. It's a great boat. Enjoy, if you have any questions about it pm me.

skmulligan 08-11-2010 09:51 PM

Sorry, I'm a little slow. Remember I'm from East TN...

PromoProducts-BP 08-11-2010 11:23 PM

SK, do you have any more pics of the boat you can upload? That's a sweet looking Playboy!!

skmulligan 08-12-2010 08:23 PM

Thanks, I really can't take much credit, I just wash her and put gas in her. Tricky errr, Pez Man did all the work. Hopefully this winter she'll get some sprucing up. I'll post some photos asap.
