shorties on a bullet ????
I have an 89 bullet with a notched transom. It has xr drives on it. I feel like im dragging alot of drive. I leveled the boat on the trailer then i trimmed the drives to make them level. I measured straight out from the nose cone to the bottom of the boat and i got 5" between the center of the shaft and the bottom of the boat. I think i can run shorties any buddy out there with some experiance that can help me. How much prop should be in the water ? Were should my drive shafts be compaired to the bottom of my boat. I wanna no if its even worth my time an money. Any other options besides running shorties ? Any help would be appreciated !!!

My buddy ran your boat with you. To be honest there are a few people around our area to help you. PM me and I'll try to help...

Your PM box is full.....A couple guys tried them with pretty good results. You give up a little rough water but gain a little speed. Spinning in is faster to but, i thought the handling sucked on mine.
As big and heavy as these bullets are {8900lbs dry} They will never be rockets on a pond but...They will run with the 38s when it's snotty:drink: |

How was it getting on plane? I bought a pair of imco -2 shorties for my bullet, but haven't even tried them. I am presently running stock 454 mags but picked up a pair of Hawk 525sc takeoffs. I think the blowers should get me close to 80 ( with a bob madara cam also) so may not even bother with the shorties. Were the handling issues that bad? Mine bullet has no notch.

Try it..It's easy to do A couple guys tried the Imcos and were happy...I never got around to trying them. I was very happy with how mine ran as it was. |
Wouldnt mind pickin up a couple mile an hour myself over the winter. Im curious about the shorties too! Put those bad boys on and lets git this party started! A bunch of 85 MPH Bullets would be cool...:ernaehrung004:

KReed go back and re read this post. "You give up a little rough water but gain speed" That's fine if you stay on the river but in the ocean I don't see it as a benefit. How about boxes on these boats???? Let it ride like a longer boat no? It seems that both rough water handling and speed can be achieved.
