Its not so much the access as the head room with the sit down boats. I know with the Donzi Comp's they made one with a 1/4 cabin so to speak. It had a couple of facing love seats and a zippered access to the front bow area. You have to access through the deck hatch and I am not really sure if there is enough head room to even sit comfortably. I left mine unfinished but mounted a porta-potti under the one hatch for emergencies. Even sitting on that, you have to leave the hatch up so you have head room!:grinser010:

My intention was for access through the hatch. Does anyone have pics of what it looks like down there? Possibly a sleeping area between the bulkheads?

Thanks,

Sailbote!!!!:lolhit: .....:drink: Glad to hear your new mill is rolling right!

Thanks for the pics Blume, looks like that center stringer would be an issue as far as sleeping quarters are concerned.

You could pay for a lot of hotel rooms for what it will cost to have that done! :drink:

With the freeboard already being lower, it would be too cramped down there for an average sized adult to be worth it in the end, I would think?

That, and you could risk having the CG of the boat being shifted far enough forward, that it might cause the boat to have bow steer issues.

By the time you built the structure over the stringers for a bed down there to comfortably support ONE adult, much less two, you may have added another 500+ pounds worth of material once it's finished? Having bow steer would be NOOO bueno on a stepped boat.
