Default XR drives on a Gladiator

Do any of you guys have XR drives on a Gladiator with 700+ hp. I have a Gladiator with staggered 750 Zuls and was wondering if I should upgrade my XR sportmaster drives to SCX uppers. The boat has 94 hours with original drives but I dont want to destroy them on pokerruns. I am currently runing 6 blade Herrings 29.5 pitch. I am going to sell them and run 5 blade herrings next. I just want to know how your Gladiators have held up with these drives. I forgot it has its extension boxs also.
Thanks
John

Less of a beating on the drives I'd have to say seeing as what his question has to do with.

Faster that is the reason I will post some numbers soon. 107.4 with 6 blades so far hoping for 110 plus with 5 blades.

The new uppers you mention, should be better for long runs, where your clutch cone can get so hot that it melts to the gear. Switching to 5 blades should take a bit of the load off as well.

That is really the only drive issue I ever had, running Zul 650's on a TS. It would only happen on runs like the Key West run, due to the long timeframe between stops.

The silver lining, was that it would always lock into forward, so I could still run the boat normally after bypassing the neutral safety switch, & starting it like a crash box setup.

I really like your boat. It was the first Gladiator I ever rode in.
