You said there is a big difference between the 38 and 39 can you elaborate more. I know the 38 usually has 525's side by side and the 39 has 700's staggered. I'm not interested in 700's. how would they compare with 525's and bravo's, ride wise on Lake Erie with 3-4'ers at 40-60mph cruise and what difference would top speed be?
Thanks, Steve

Cash Bar 09-28-2010 09:41 PM

The ride on the 39' isn't even comparable to a 38. It's like night and day considering the small size difference.

OldSchool 09-29-2010 10:39 AM

I wouldn't delete a damn thing. You did nothing wrong.
WTF is wrong with people?:rolleyes:

It's a nice boat. I believe that it is either the first or second 39 out of the mold (can't remember, the other one is like maroon, blue and red and was in ohio). I crawled around on that thing a few times when it was new @ Offshore Performance in MD. I know that the first owner put about 20 hours on it while he owned it.

I think that the ride would be pretty similar on a Bravo boat. A 39 w/ 700's and real props is where the big difference occurs.

Cash Bar 09-29-2010 10:57 AM

That is true. Most of my 39 experience is on 700 boats.

DollaBill 09-29-2010 11:05 AM

Yes, the 700's and props change things but the little bit of bottom and the STAGGER makes a big diff. Diff CG, better balance

The yellow/gold is hull 39-001 and it had 17.1 hours on it when this guy bought it and it has less than 65 now. The maroon one is hull 2 I think, it was owned by a guy in SC and sold in the spring to a guy on LOTO. Here's a few pics of the maroon one and a few of hull 1.

Blume is correct; the red one is here at LOTO (nice looking ride!)

And I agree the big props on the NXT's make a difference; 39 / 700 boats rock!

That said I'm sure glad I'm not a Redskins fan this week :party-smiley-004:

They made a few big prop number 6 drive 38's and they are no comparison to a 39' with NXT or number 6 drives. Doesn't matter what motor 700's, 850's or 1075's.

BLee 09-29-2010 02:54 PM

"Hot Duck" would be the best person to ask about these in my opinion.

He's had an F2 38-TS, a Gladiator, and now has one of the other center steer 39's w/ 525's. He could tell you the differences & comparisons of each, with a lot of first hand seat time.

It is priced right and has less that 70 total hours.

jmeng 10-25-2010 10:40 AM

If I was in the market I would be all over this boat. I could easily get used to the center steer. Only downside is I could see me having to move every 5 minutes to let my wife in or out of the passenger seat.

The wheel can be moved to the right side. Also you could put another throttle/shifter in the std location on the far right.

freshwaterfiend 10-25-2010 01:18 PM

Trailer included? It looks like a 5th wheel - is it?

just move the steering wheel over for her and you run the drives and throttles!!

cigarette38topgun 10-30-2010 12:15 PM

Blume,
That sure is pretty to me for the asking price. Someone needs to scoop this up, wish it could be me!

This is exactly what I need. I called you Blume pretty hot on it and than cooled. That boat is a 10 except my wife is not a fan of the paint. With the bathroom and the cabin it is exactly what i need for the kid. Is there anyone that would trade the 5th wheel trailer for a standard one? If so it makes the deal that much easier for me
