Looking at Gladiators

I am looking at buying a gladiator.

What is everyone overall opinion and suggestions.

Also anyone know if any for sale other than the few on here or on boattrader?

Thanks in advance

Great boats! There are a lot of threads about the Gladiator. Just do a search. What kind of power are you looking for?

Pauls boat is a great ride...525 stag. 90+ MPH and turn key...In perfect condition...

I would love staggered 525s but I havent had much luck finding one.

The one I like just has 500 EFI's so Im not sure what it would run.

Paul's boat could go into the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show this weekend, even if he didn't get to wipe it down beforehand. It probably doesn't take him more than a single sheet of Kleenex to handle it when he does.

If you are looking at all of them, I would look at Phil's with the 700's & NXT's, or that other Stars & Stripes one with the big power & drives too.

Outkast Rafe 10-26-2010 03:30 PM

is Phils boat for sale? if so where?

I also seen an all white one for sale with side x side 500efi i think. cant remember where i seen this at though

Phils 700/NXT boat was sold a while back to a gentleman in Texas.

OL40SVX 10-26-2010 03:32 PM

I thought Phil sold his boat to Tony Z in Texas?

rockstar38 10-26-2010 03:42 PM

Has anyone seen the Tres Vigin boat recently and if so what are your thoughts?

OL40SVX 10-26-2010 03:46 PM

If buying a Gladiator I would suggest buying a Staggered 525 boat. It doesnt get better than that unless you want big Zuls!!

joefitness123 10-26-2010 05:21 PM

525 stag...Reliability and 90 MPH all day long everyday...Turn Key...

redbud35 10-26-2010 07:50 PM

I'm the guy that bought it! Love it. So far so good. Paul's boat is a beauty.
Rocky, I'll be at the lake the next two weekends give me a call. We'll go for a ride.

SLOWRIDE-388 10-26-2010 07:58 PM

Have fun Alex, let Brett know if you want to try any of the props while you down. Give me a call if you need too.

32Envision 10-26-2010 07:58 PM

Congratulations RedBud! I have been dreaming about that boat since it went up for sale. Saw you on the lake one time when you had your Outlaw with 525s..sounded great! This Glad is sweet.

Tim G. 10-26-2010 08:44 PM

Pier 57 has a nice side by side boat. Very nice condition when I saw it.... I don't understand why it hasn't sold.... I'd like to have it...:hitit:

Congrats on the Gladiator!! You'll love the boat and overall package!! I still wish I had mine sometimes.

Shallow Minded 10-26-2010 08:53 PM

Geez, sounds like I should start looking at Glad's, too... Congrats, RedBud! And Rocky, be patient and fine one you like... definitely a buyer's market! I'll be curious to hear what everyone thinks of a sit-down at LOTO. :coolcowboy:

Thanks for the compliments guys. I would put in the show, but just the thought of it sitting in that scum-line infested salt water makes me shiver. :D

They didn't seem to want to deal on that one too much.

Good luck on the search, I looked at them last winter, very nice boats and a great ride for the size of boat

MiniHawk 10-26-2010 11:04 PM

+1!! You took very good care of her Joe. I got the pleasure of running it with Alex last sunday and I can say it is one of the funnest boats I have ever been in.

Rocky, I would get with alex he did a lot of shopping around while looking for his Glad. I would really hold out for one with the 525's. Be patient, one will pop up.

I have many hours in that boat, and a few seconds out of that boat! When I sold it to Bob Bull he pulled the motors and had them rebuilt and tweaked as well as some cockpit updates. The boat is very fast for a 500 boat. I was able to run 93/4 mph with the limiters turned up on the stock 500's. Very fun boat that can be bought for a decent price.

I believe that this is the very first Gladiator built.
