Nice boat! I doubt it runs in the mid 90's with 650hp engines. Maybe upper 80's. Sounds like when I bought my Cigarette. Owner said he went 83mph. I can't get the boat past 72mph. LIED!!!!!

The "out of control" T/S gun runs over 105 w/Zul tunnel rammed 750's. Granted the X is high on Kevins boat but low to mid 90's wouldn't be un-heard of I wouldn't think. Light on fuel and two on board. A T/S stock 525 boat is going to run mid to high 80's correct?

Of course, Rob "Rice Hauler" would be able to tell you exactly what his old boat ran.:drink:

my 575 Top Gun will run 90, I would think it would run in the mid 90's

I was on the boat a month ago and can attest that we hit 7 MPH on the Intracoastal with no problem, full fuel and 3 people... other than that I can't say for sure :evilb:

We were 93 mph w/ bone stock 575's........13,208 lbs........we did have 5 blade Herrings though.

I think its an awesome boat, however It needs a paint job to get away from the stigma of its past.

4195 12-01-2010 08:23 AM

The boat has been forsale on here and other sites for a while. I called on it before I got the Tiger. The boat has a unique history and all but my concern was it was rumored at one point that it had been stripped and then put back together, let's face it if that was true you have no idea who put it back together. Seems like a good deal if everything checks out. I believe the boat is being stored in Sarasota.

Yea, I think its history is keeping someone from snatching it up. Not a bad price for the package but....Ever heard the term, "Drive it like you stole it...?":eek: :drink:

I bet it doesn't stop fast.....

seafordguy 12-01-2010 10:23 AM

Is there any ambiguity with respect to ownership??

I gotta disgree. That paint job is the classiest of any Cigarette ever done in my opinion. I've got pics of that boat taken at Lip Ship when it was new. If the price was more realistic (given the current market for such toys/history), I'd be interested.

Yeah, that guy LIED to you big time it sounds like. The TS hull is completely different than the straight bottom.

The 525 TS Top Guns will run upper 80's with ease, and some have hit 90. I'm definitely not trying to argue at all, but that boat will definitely run in the low to mid 90's with those Zul 650's.

I can confirm this, because I had the EXACT same boat, drive/cabin setup, & engines in my TS Gun as Rice Hauler does, and mine ran 92-93mph everytime I wanted to do it:

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/7161/p2210073.jpg

I just had some labbed Mercury props on mine, so a nice set of Herings would very likely squeeze a couple of more mph out of it. Those engines actually make 650 on the dyno, but 625 at the prop:

Man that was a nice boat.

So, I'll go ahead and ask... what's the stigma attached to this boat?

It was stolen 3 or 4 years ago. I would not have any problem with it being my boat. :)

WMF 12-01-2010 08:17 PM

I tried to buy the boat before I bought the one I have now, we just could not agree on price!! I love the paint job and looks of the boat!

wnelles 12-01-2010 08:20 PM

I hope it's "stigma" keeps it from selling until mine sells. I would like to buy it.

Me either. I did try to turn a friend onto it though, and he said it is not in anywhere near the condition that those pictures show. This was about 4 months ago, and he's someone that I know more than well enough to rate what he meant as negative. I haven't seen it myself though, so I don't know if he meant it was "dirty" or is was "trashed".

Ahh hell, that's nothing... :grinser010: I really like the boat and don't think he's too far off on price. Now, if I could just unload a nice Scarab...

Like I've said before man: I'd still have it along with the Skater, if the guy that bought it hadn't wanted it so bad. I sold it with close to 300 hours on the Zuls, and I heard he ran it for another like 250 hours before deciding to go ahead & freshen them, but didn't have to. That boat ran like a SOB.

Wheres the boat now B? That's funny about the motors. Kevin had over 400 on his Zul 750's before he decided on his own (ie no failures) to rebuild. Richie builds a great motor!

My friend here in MI has a T/S with 725 Zuls and it will run 98-99 everyday in fresh water. I have been on it and somewhere might have a pic of the recall showing it.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...&id=1666616278

Yes it went to loto, and is still there as of Shootout weekend.

I randomly noticed it posted in Jay's picture thread from this years Shootout:

The owner had the fairing painted yellow shortly after he bought it from me, but everything else is the same from what I can tell. It looks like he's still enjoying it!

Neill at Cigarette made that seat special for me

It made all the difference on long runs when people got tired of standing up:

Plus, it looked really cool & unique, since none of the other TS Guns like it at the time had that type of rear seat :coolcowboy:
