Engine compartment is charcoal to silver fade.

Double the batteries + sixes w/trannies; will be heavy in the azz end. I'm lookin forward to see how she runs out.

That's what I originally thought, surprisingly, 6's didn't add that much weight. Three batteries are standard.

Counting down the days till test drive!

Here's a picture of the 2011 39 at the Lauderdale show. This boat rocked a pearl white engine compartment - looked amazing.

seafordguy 12-05-2010 12:23 PM

Wow - I love it.....

Mine only had two batteries; and its not the drives that add the significant weight, its the trannies, per Mercury the difference is 200lbs (per side).

Sure looking good though.

God that looks nice!! Can't wait to see the finished results

The boat will be balanced slightly different, engines were moved forward, X dimension modified...hoping the formula works. If not, we'll replace with NXT's.

BTW - your 39 was our motivation. Loved your boat, totally impressed with performance at the Shootout.

Thx

Incredible 39U! Looks fantastic and we're just looking at paint and some rigging in the your fave and 'most important' room! LOL :D Can't wait for the end results!!

Hope the tweaks and adjustments that were made hit the sweetest of sweet spots!

It will probably have the 700SCI transmission with the NXT transom assy and a number 6 drive.

johnlomant 12-05-2010 07:13 PM

Cig rigs a boat like no other.

SLOWRIDE-388 12-05-2010 07:17 PM

What exactly is a 700SCI transmission?? It is Mercury, guess so???

Then what would be the point of going to sixes? The weak link in the NXT is the tranny, the drives are fine...the NXT is basically a six with a single vs dual shaft. I know the six lowers work better on some boats (beaks) due to the lift but not an issue on the Cigs...so???

Yep, basically a bravo derivative as I understand it.

There were several contributing factors. In the end, room for growth and the "Wow Factor" were primary reasons.

Gonna be beautiful Congrats again.

So what I am hearing is your putting in the 700's so the wife doesnt think you went wild on power...and then we see an overnight swap to 1300's !!!! I love it !! :party-smiley-004:

What really helps is when my eyes are open I see single digit temps and 8" of snow. Trying to sleep and work as much as possible until March.

Too late to upgrade to stellings headers? This was a killer upgrade on David Yorks 700/39.

You are definately building a dream machine.

Never too late. Curious, what is the primary advantage? Saw this on a 39 at Legendary Marine several years ago.

baja27 12-18-2010 04:34 PM

39 unlimited , they are a much better constructed header and larger tube dia which will perform better also.

rlj676 12-18-2010 05:03 PM

Thanks for the pics.... I'm dreaming vicariously (as I'm sure many are) through you!

This boat will not be lacking wow factor in any way!:drink:

It's a cone clutch transmission.

Imagine a bravo upper gearset arrangement turned 90*

The beauty of it is, when in forward, the cone/output shaft connects to the input shaft/gear cup, there is no power transfer through the gear teeth, the only power transfer through the gear teeth is when in reverse.

But they have their limitatons too.

bajarick 12-18-2010 06:10 PM

A friend just bought a left over 39 tg with 700 nxt drives,
it made a beleaver out of me. The boat runs 104 mph +.
What I was amazed at 98 mph in the gulf 3 to 4 footers
felt like I was in my suv running down the road at 40 mph.
CIGARETTE keep up the good work.
