Default Better market this season???

I tried all last season to sell my clean '97 Gun at a steal of a price but had no luck. Do you guys see that the market this year will be any better? any worse?

Thanks- MJB

I was talking to the owner of a major marine business and he is selling boats like crazy. I do not know if it is the time of year or what, but ever time we talk, someone is there upgrading and ordering new boats and buying used ones. It feels like it is getting better out there. Even with the stock market and Japan issue. I just had a friend sell a 33 cat in no time at all. Good luck!

I know of a specific dealer down south here in Florida that is moving boats on a daily basis..He's very busy selling his used boats..

So I guess this would mean things are coming around a bit...Or atleast for his place..

I hear the same from my buddy who owns Harbour Marine - they are selling boats like crazy. Much better than last year.

At the end of last season I got down to 65,000 and still couldn't sell it...and it's clean with fairly new engines and runs great. I am about to put it back up at $74,000.

Regular is $3.80
93 super is $4.10

On the water it is 4.75 and $5.05 in NYS

Diesel is now $4.22 everywhere in NY

Its not even memorial day yet. That makes it tougher on boat sales. I know its a very, very, very small portion of performance boating, but I think it hurts people looking to get into the sport.

People just getting into it or people not into it at all have a hard time believing you when you tell them that gas is one of the least expensive items in power boating! The family pontoon with the 135 hp honda could run it's entire life on the dead dino's that a pair of 600's burn in a good season...
