The gear selector is a Morse but is not cable, it is electronic with a solenoid on the MERC transmission. The throttle is a cable-actuated foot throttle. (I switched both out to Gaffrig). The boats run really well and 'act' like larger boats in rough water. I considered selling mine but am so glad I kept it. Lots of fun for the money and still pretty fast.
