Can anyone tell me what the Max Horsepower you can put infront of a TRS drive?
Or that a TRS can handle?

I know a couple guys running over 700hp on TRS's but they are good drivers in smaller boats..

i was told 650 being nice to the drive

TRS is good for 650-700 but the merc 2 trans has a lot to do with it ...they are not good for bigg HP the BW C-72 is good for 700 !

I also heard 600 hp...But I wouldn't be afraid of putting more in front of one. Guy do it all the time.. You will just have to be good!!!!

In adding to that question, what about the recomended horsepower when that TRS is coupled up to a Merctrans vs a Borg tranny? Can a Merctrans be built up?

I did a 2+ clutch to mine its 9 disk now BW

Not quite clear on what you said? Did you add 2 discs to a Merc or a BW? If a Merc, have you had any issues?

Sorry let me be more clear I added 2 clutches to BW 72C so now its a 9 disk running around 650 detuned 540's.
