Engine are set to go, 509" h beam rods, steel cranks, with gm 088 rect port heads, crane 741 cams, 500hp intakes, crane rockers. Hoping they make at least 550hp. Should be on the dyno before Christmas .

Unlimited jd 11-15-2011 07:02 AM

Picked a couple parts motors yesterday, gonna rig one up temporarily to make a list of what hardware I need and to see what works and what doesn't. Should make some good progress this week!

Unlimited jd 11-15-2011 10:24 PM

Mock up motor is in on port side just have to rig it now and see what I'm missing or want to change

502ss 11-16-2011 02:48 PM

I can't believe all the room you have in front of your engines, that is one of the nice things about having no trannies!

Looking good though! :drink:

Sick Stinger 11-16-2011 03:01 PM

He has trannys

Unlimited jd 11-16-2011 03:52 PM

72c sitting behind that engine. Speed master setup is 3" closer to the transom than a trs boat.

I have drivelines in my Mistress, and there is still room to walk in front of the engines on the tanktop flat. My blower pulleys are still a few inches behind the flat/lower bulkhead even though I mounted the new engines about 6" forward from the stock SSM plugin position.

Unlimited jd 11-17-2011 07:08 AM

Any pics?

I just happen to notice you have what looks like two power steering pumps, any reason or just for redundancy?

Nice engines btw!

Hydraulic steering is tough if you happen to lose a motor with PS. If you build it with breaking in mind it wont break... right?

Yup know it well! When I was working the kinks out last year I was having coil problems and limped home several times! I think every time I had to limp it was the PS engine that had quit. It is hard but not un drivable! Kinda like driving a non PS car!!

I wish I could take credit for those engines, but TxHawk is the man behind the beauty. I just do my best to keep them clean! Thanks though!

Unlimited jd 12-18-2011 06:54 PM

Yep lol, 6 this year, but I've gone from a 23' stingray to a 40' Excalibur without spending more than 8,000 out of pocket
