86 flat deck with 800s. Best so far is 104.
Anybody have pictures of the spider boat? 117 is crazy fast out of a straight bottom. Here are a few pictures of the Spider Boat. By the way, the best that I have heard that it has run is 114/115. I have two good friends that have been onboard with Bill when that happened. Bill also has a 46 Cig that runs 117. |

Holy Crap! I would have never of guessed that! That's raging for that beast.... I wish we could have chatted at the bay. I would have liked to check out the engine bay.. I am curious to here how much HP & time it would take to get even close to that....
950hp. They are now 850hp and still respectable. We will meet up at Kellys or PIB in the summer. |

December of 1978. Mar del Plata, Argentina and the boats are being brought down from the port of Buenos Aires, 200 miles to the north. The offshore World Championships were about to begin.
We all watched as a fully covered boat comes into the pits and Bobby Saccenti, who was the throttleman on the boat, begins to uncover it.....AJAC HAWK. This was the first ever 37.6 built. It was taken out of the 39 foot mold, by blocking it and adding a 9 foot wide 36 foot race boat deck and trimming and adding length to it. After much fine tuning, that boat beat me in the Bahamas 200 in June of 1980 by 30 seconds....that was the first win ever, by the boat to be called later the"38 Top Gun" Light on fuel, good water conditions, with the approx 700 HP engines we had back then, the best we ever saw was low to mid 90 MPH. |
