Bilge paint opinions wanted

Wondering what the masses think...

While I have the engines out I'm thinking I might as well repaint the bilge. My question is what color??? It's currently white but I'm thinking maybe charcoal would like cool. The paint scheme on the boat is white/black/charcoal and purple. I'm thinking I'm going to powdercoat the engine mounts purple, paint the blocks charcoal and then purple accents on top of the motors...

So what do you guys think, white or charcoal for the bilge???

Seems the current trend is to color match with your exterior. White looks good but is a "production" color ie Fountain.

I vote charcoal with the purple accents. It will also be easier to keep clean and won't show all. And it will be different than what you currently have. Good luck.

Just thinking, maybe a small amount of purple metallic or splash(?) in/on the charcoal to live'n the darker color up some. ?? Don't want it to look to gaudy.

I would like to get mine done white one of these years.

Looks good 502ss...how hard was it? The de-rigging is not something I'm looking forward to, lol.

Downtown i agree, white is standard and charcoal is considered more custom, but a lot more work too. Just not sure if it's worth it. It might be easier to just put a couple new coats over the white that's currently there.

BDiggity, sorry no red :angry-smiley-038:

I just touched up my white bilge coat. It was fairly easy. I roughed it up a little and put it on with a brush. It was in good shape to begin with, just a few nicks. I did an additional 2 coats. I am putting in some new power and figured since it was out, I might as well.

White is the way to go. Makes the engines stand out if they are in good shape.
