Not sure what was done at Lip-Ship in 2000. I plan to call and see if they have any records. The carbs are 830 cfm based on model number, which I think are different than the stock HP500. |

I'm guessing that we are the 80 mph, #3, 750 hp boat listed
Our cafe ran 79.8 MPH per GPS with 4 guys, near full on fuel. Reportly ran 82 MPH in the shootout for what it's worth. Standard lay up, #3's. Boat had 598 tall decks that was reported to have 750 HP. But, I was told by the guy currently building our new power that we had somewhere around 590-600 HP, not 750. We could turn 3 blade, 28 pitch props to 5400 rpm. Brad Smith is building our new 619 c.I. engines. One engine was deno'd last Friday and hit 740 ft lbs of torque at 5500 rpm's before the deno went down. I'll be able to post hp and final power numbers in a couple days. I hope to have some new top end numbers in 4 - 6 weeks. Chad 81 GPS, 1' chop - but still playing with some things. Motors came out to be 632's, naturally asperated - 746/751 HP, both 770 torque. Still have the #3's and spinning 28 pitch, 3 blade cleavers to 5750+ rpm range. I know I can improve but only maybe to the 83... MAYBE??? 84 mph range. I never thought that I would match my 'paint' speed but was hoping to get a little close than I did or might get to. Man, it takes some serious HP to move these old bricks!!!:party-smiley-004: |
