Default Anyone remove bilge pump pad?

Are most Cigs similar? My Mistress has a bilge pump "mounting pad" that is both elevated and blocks water from draining back.

The pad is right up against the cutout in the center stringer.

Has anyone ever removed this? I was thinking of stamping a thin stainless sheet metal bracket which I can screw the bilge pumps to and then secure the backet down with 4200. Goal is to make something that water can flow by and get the pumps an inch or so lower.

Thanks!

Default pad modification

I changed mine so it would drain better. I put a bilge pump on each side of the cut out.

It's really hard to focus on the modification in the picture because the entire engine compartment is so beautiful to look at. Thanks.

Hey Kris your bilge looks great! What was the name of the white Awlgrip you went with for your topcoat? I'm about to paint mine this weekend and need to buy the paint, there's so many options for white.

Thanks!

Jason,
I used the Matterhorn white but I painted the whole boat top to bottom that color. I think the Insignia white will probably match your gell coat better.

Kris,

I removed my pump from the pad on my Scarab and made a bracket for it to fit on that "clamps" to the center stringer, makes it a lot easier to remove for cleaning. Plan on doing the same arrangement except for having dual pumps on my Sqaudron XII. Question if I may, is the picture of your bilge recent? If so would love to see pics of how your Arnesons are mounted.

Thanks Kris, I'll look into that! I hope mine comes out as nice as yours did.
