Default Top Gun Unlimited vs 42 Lightning

Looking to move up in the world and considering these a 39 Top Gun Unlimited or a 42 Fountain Lightning. Looking for both with 700's and wonder which one is faster and which one is better in rough water. Your opinions would be appreciated.

Speed - Fountain faster
Ride - no comparison, Cigarette by a wide margin
Overall experience - Cigarette by a wider margin

If you are looking to move up, then you might as well move up. If it is in your budget, then the only answer is Cigarette.

IF the 39 Cig 700's is at 108, that will be faster than the 105-107mph of the 42 Fountain.

If you're actually looking to "move up" then the Cig is the way to go. I'm not sure it's really slower than the Fountain in smooth calm water, but if you know how to drive, you'll walk away from the Fountain in the rough. And with the Cig, you won't be putting the interior and other parts of the boat back together when you get back to the dock. I've owned multiple Fountains and Cigs. Night and day difference with the build quality and materials between the two boats. The Cig may cost more, but you get what you pay for. Talk to Phil at Lipship, he's got some 39's.
