Ride between a flat bottom cig and a stepped cig? I really like the way TS cigs ride in the rough, they seem to cushion a little more on landings compared to the pure crushing power of a heavy straight bottom.

That orange gun has been for sale for 3+ years. It's insanely awesome but it was also priced way to high for the market (IMHO). There was a guy looking at my gun and couldn't decide between mine and that orange one (even though i straight up told him id buy the orange obe if it was my choice!) but the owner wouldn't go below 165 because he owed too much on it. At 90k, that's a good buy on that rig. A lot of boat for the money. Of course then you get into the whole arguement of the fact it's still a 20 year old boat that no bank will finance so the buyer will have to pay cash and if someone has that much cash it's not a stretch to to think they'll have a bit more to buy a 525 TS gun that will be faster, newer and a bank will finance. But for straight cool factor the orange boat has the edge!!

Thanks Tank!

You make some really good points I hadn't considered! I think 165K was way too much, especially in the economy we are currently mired in. Thanks again Tank, I appreciate the help!

As far as speed of the orange boat, the drives appear to be mounted very wide.....like maybe 38" on center rather than the normal 35"-36". If that's the case, it's not going to help the speed or efficiency of the hull.

adk61 02-13-2012 11:43 AM

you are correct... 38" and the boat i'm sure is a turd!!! I know someone who has the same issue, and I don't have the heart to tell him he needs to do a re-rig... if stellings green or similar headers are used, one could run the engines as tight as 33" this is how I got big speed outta my 10 meter fountain!! hi up and tight together!!

If that orange boat could be bought for low 70's id be sold. Is one of the nicest straight cigs out there bit in now way is it a speed machine. Its still a staright bottom..........................

Both of these boats will sell to people who appreciate the over the top level of detail. I don't think you can compare either of these boats to most other staight bottom Top Guns on the market, the amount of custom work sets them apart.

K what about the one in the classifieds for 75 seems to be done very well just not a 6 boat but it does have a Konrad conversion

Seems like a nice boat. I don't think this boat matches the detail level of the other two, and the Konrads vs. sixes issue. I would pay more than 15k extra for sixes over most any drive. Having decent power and not breaking is priceless.

I would definitely agree with your prior posts...........

Can I throw my Number Six Top Gun in the mix?:party-smiley-004:

There is not as much detail in the paint, but it's a strong running, turn key rig with timeless Cigarette graphics......and a full cockpit & cabin.

I agree with you guys but 90/100 k for a straight bottom older hull seems a bit high for what it is but I'm not knocking the boats at all I'm a cig guy threw and threw

This would be a comparable boat. Not the same but comparable. No question the stagger strait bottom cigs are rare and it's worth what the buyer and seller agree upon. I was turned on to this one today and thought about it before posting it for the masses, but its just not what I am looking for.

Figure getting it some OSO exposure will find it a home. Still looking.

That Would Be My ALL TIME Favourite Flat Bottom Cig.... Hands Down.....
