Ouch! But proving it can be done! Bet the plugs come right out when you go to change them, getting super heated every time you tow!

look at the used freightliner fl70's or even a used volvo truck single axled out. these can be had for closer to 18-30k depending on mileage. every once in a while a single axle short wheelbase semi will pop up for sale for under the 18k mark.. Also petes, kenworth, topkick, kodiak, freightliners... check www.horsetrailerworld.com for the used truck section to find some... then take the 20-30k diference and travel more than you planned on with taking the boat buying a new tow rig....

I tow my cafe with an 00 f350 dually.

My next truck will be a medium duty. Either an f650 or a kodiak. The latter are growing on me as they can be had cheaper and there seem to be more with 4x4. Looks are growing on me too

I couldn't imagine hauling my TG with my 5.4L Ford. I've pulled it with the 6.2 Super Duty Ford F250, 3.73 ratio & was not impressed with the towing either. I've pulled with a Chevy 2500 HD, 4.10 ratio, 6.0 and could hardly tell the boat was there.

I made the mistake of buying a used 2009 F250 supercrew with a 5.4l, never owned one and thought it would be ok. I njever even hooked it to the boat, used it for two days and called the dealer begging to get me out of it. The truck would work hard to go up a 2% grade empty I ran one tank and got 7 mpg. That engine is dated, has no power, and drinks fuel....I thought the 6.0l chevy gas was bad!
