Older carbon fiber boats had some issues in the engine compartment area.

Didn't some circa 1988 cigarettes have delemaniation issues because all the glass guys were fired at once? Really any boat that is run annually should have all these issues worked out by now. I'd be cautious if you have a boat around that year that has been laid up for 10-20 years.

I thought I remember reading about the 1988-1991 era having some structural/lay up issues.

My 1988 kevlar hull Top Gun is holding up just fine.

Did yours sell yet Tex?

All kidding aside, The only ones that I've ever heard of were the older carbon70 series boats.

Just remember that around 93 or 94 is when the new resins were made and everyone started using them, so anything after that should be fine as far as glass issues.

Mine has been solid. Like was stated before, I think a few light layups had some issues and some non Top Guns had the problem with the K-Plane installation in the 80's.

Good looking boat. Hatch really updates it.

Didn't mean to get ya'll riled up. I did read that somewhere.......but really those boats would of delaminated within the first couple of years of use so most all should be gone or fixed by now.
