Default 28ss

Just spotted on eBay a 1986 28ss with big blocks all original stored for 24 yrs and has 33 hrs. The boat is unbelievable. Starting price is 49,500 and there is a reserve. If I didn't buy a boat last year I would be all over that. The boat is almost brand new.

Cool looking boat but..... someone is dreaming at 50K.

If you would want to use the boat every belt, hose and engine, trans, drive and hull seal would need to be replaced i would think. If someone did not condition the interior every now and them -I wonder how brittle the vinyl is after 24 years?

But all that aside - it is a very unmolested 28!!! A rare find for sure!

Saw this boat in person about 6 years ago. It is very clean and looks to be the stated hours. I traveled from Washington State to NY to buy it. The deal went south when it was revealed that the only title for the boat is the 1986 title, although there were 4 or 5 owners in it's life.

+1. 33 hours is not a good thing for 20+ year old engines. They will rust if you don't use them. Everything else looks great.

I had the same experience. I traveled from KC to Traverse City, Michigan, got there and found out about the open 1986 title and went home without it. Needless to say it defined disapointment. The Michigan owner sold it, obviously since its now in NY, and if this is the same purchaser he got it for 38ish back then. I still have the survey I had done on it. It was 9 or 10 years ago and I believe at that time it had 29 hours.
