Cigarette/Squadron XII 27
Tried posting this in the clasics section but didnt get a lot of feedback so hopefully more people will chime in on the cig forum, since boats are kind of related.
I found a squadron 27 that might be for sale and before placing an offer I wanted to know a little about the boat. I have read the forum and know a bit about the history of squadron but since so few were made it's hard to find a lot of owner feedback and information. Like, how does the boat handle in big water? What types of speeds can I expect with a 496 ho? And other minor info such as gas tank capacity, dry weight, common problems to look for in these boats? Here's a pic of the HIN. I read that only 18 were made but this HIN says # 21. Or am I missing something? http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/...Y/a9ab633f.jpg |

Whay year was that?? Mine is #18 and it is an '83.. As far as we knew #18 was the last...
Have any more pics?? As for speeds, I have a lake X performance sheet from my hull.. Power was a 400 Cyclone TRS 1.5 ratio Weight 4405 w/o prop 1/2 fuel 1 man 62mph @ 5300 spinning a 14 3/4 X 21 cleaver... So I am sure new power (450+/-), more efficient drive with a higher propshaft and new prop technology, I would estimate close to 70s. |
26 Spyder how's the restoration project going on your Squadron? I saw the thread on SOS that showed your transom and stringer work.
