Some of the big block boats had a flat hatch with (3) scoops towards the back to give the mainfold clearance. They also used the lowest flame arrestor they could find.

You're correct, the twin big block hulls had 3 scoups across the back edge of the hatch to clear the exhaust risers. My boat had the exhaust risers changed to point the exhaust straight out, instead of down, they now come out just above the rub rail.

My boat was re-fitted with 425HP/454's, they had to cut holes thru the hatch and cushion for the air cleaners to poke thru, the 425's have a taller intake manifolds than the original 330's and there was no way to use even the lowest profile flame arrestors.

Does anybody have a spare pair of scoups laying around?

I sold a 28 hatch to 'P Offshore' several years back. I'm sure it's still sitting in his shop. It had two tall scoups (like Formula 1 size) on it.

He's turned into a boating hermit and might be difficult to get ahold of. But, you might PM him.

I am looking for 2 of the original scoups to cover my air cleaners, then have the cushion re-cut around them.

There are 2 sizes, How much for 2 of the smaller scoups, and could you make them 4 to 6 inches longer?
