You need to add a wedge in the transom... bottom line....you can try props, x-dim, spinning in or out, different drives but you will be wasting your time. Been there done that. Get Ahold of Tres Martin and talk with him about it

I have seen this "wedge" added to the strakes and chine of a Top Gun. How does this not hurt the top end speed? Sure seems like it would scrub a few mph, as you are basically adding a hook to the bottom.

It actually picks up speed when done! I thought the same thing as you! Boat runs flat and smooth, doesn't flop around like a big ol' donkey dick! When running out in the rough stuff the nose doesn't fly way up and the back doesn't hit water first causing the bow to slap down. Doesn't compare to a 39 by any means but its sure hell of a lot better than looking like a rookie when your boat is flopping down the smooth river...

Not saying that it wont work, but i know the boat handles flawlessly over 60 and since modifying the hull can't be cheap, I'm thinking along the lines of just adding power with that money to get a higher cruise speed rather than solve the hop and get no speed for the coin spent.I've tried 28p props and achieved 52mph at 3300rpm with minimal top end gain so maybe 600hp n/a and 30's and well under 10g's considering the motors have just shy of 400hrs on them anyway.

WOW - some real rookies on this thread - trim the nose down for crying out load, glad these guy don't fly commercial planes

Mine does it too on glass... It's a light lay up with a cover girl cabin. I usually can trim it out or run just a tiny bit of tab and it smooths right out... That's only if I have to run at that speed...

I like to power through it with some throttle! She settles down around 70+

oreo11zeus, i'm not sure who you are referring to as a rookie but i'm sure the everyone on here knows you can trim or tab the boat to take the porpoise out of the boat. i'm guessing you have never owned a straight bottom tg and that's why you don't fully understand the question about the hop. it's annoying to have a boat that reaches a top speed of 70ish mph and it "hops" all the way there if you don't use tab or trim, i'm sure the owner would like to be able to run the boat at all speeds and not have to use tab or trim and scrub speed off or simply not run the boat at wot all day. read a little deeper into the thread next time you post a stupid comment

I second the wedge idea. Have seen it done to correct the porpoising on a Formula 311. This wedge is only a couple of inches long starting from " zero " to an eighth of an inch or so at the edge of the transom. Settled the boat down and is definately faster than it was before.
