I'm not sure if by notched transom you mean the same as a steped transom, but IT IS steped at the bottom. not sure how much that will change the speed. I was figuring somewhere in the low 60's. and thanks again for the congrat's.

Good luck and have fun. Plan, plan, plan, and find someone capabl of doing things above your level of expertise. That's the best advice I could give. I'm fortunate enough to have top talent pretty close to home, helps a lot when you have someone that knows what they are doing. Oh yeah, double your original budget and don't think about the money or you'll never finish it. All this has been said before, you'll understand what I mean in a couple years.....

Good luck and have fun, cool project!!!

I am in Daytona Bch. So I am fortunate as well to have knowledgable people around here. Or not to far away. And I agree that I am better off doing what I know how and getting help with the rest and learning from them in the process.

What he said. I'm in the middle of a restore with a cafe racer and having good people around really helps. Take your time and do it right the first time. It will be so worth it in the end.

Enjoy the project and take lots of pics.

I've had my eye on that one for quite some time! Let me know if your needing some parts for it ! I gutted an 89 gun & have a bunch of parts left over. I'm gonna list them as soon as I get a chance. Have fun with the restor! Don't be scared to get crazy with it! You have a perfect open canvas!!! Love the red hull!!!

I am hooked on red boats, my baja is all red as well.I think red boats look great on the water, they just dont hold up well in the florida sun unless you take care of them. love the 2500 I have an 08 all red.
