I'd set the -X- at about 17". This will make the bravos an about 2.5"3" higher than the TRS setup. And as a few guys have said. use the Bravo bellhousings and move the engines back. It will move your CG back some which is a good this on a full cabin Top Gun.

Scott (CIG3) said it best. He built these boats, so his is a very solid opinion to say the least.

Scott (cig3) or anyone who might know, when cig went to the notch transom how much higher did this allow the TRS drive to be mounted compared to the flat transom TGs? Thanks

Bravos/TRS

I converted a 35 Awesome to Bravo's with mild 502's some time back and the difference was unbelievable the way the boat ran and handled. I just bought an 89' 20th Anniversary (#19)TG with TRS/502's and the transom notch so I will run it and see how that goes. I am thinking about Konrads as I will be adding power later on. Nothing wrong with Bravos' if they are set up right but if your a "Frequent Flyer" you might see some issues........My 2 cents worth

Welcome back to the fold Tom!

A full cabin Top Gun has 1100 lbs or liner and interior in the bow. This make them slightly nose heavy. Moving the engines back 10 inches is like moving 1000lbs back. This helps counter the bow weight.
