With all due respect to stainless marine, that is unacceptable for a boat "of this caliber".

I agree to disagree, I was thinking about putting a SM set-up on our Cig. Randy @cobra and tommy @chief say they make more power than a CMI or stelling header and you get a 5 year warranty on the SM headers, which gives you piece of mind on a motor worth that much $$. Granted, they dont look as nice, but they dont leak either.

Those are not the standard stainless marine, but the big Gen III ones with 5" elbows. And yes, they do support big power.

I think Lip ship did something with them as well. for the 525/700's with the funky bolt edelbrock heads... I wouldn't have a problem sacrificing bling for reliability.

BINGO!!! Never understood the loyalty to a header that notoriously cracks and causes mechanical failure!

Had the orginal set of Stainless Marine's on our 95 Gun and NEVER had an issue with them.

Why is it that 46s are that hard to sell, no matter what the year or what the power, when it is there most efficient hull design.

Someone else just mentioned that Pier 57 has a 46 for sale, for the same price as AM3, so what does that tell you about the price of AM3. I agree that headers, just look bad a$$. But every single boat that I've owned with headers, whether it's CMI or Stelling's, have all cracked. Some have cause some pre mature engine rebuilds. I think Stainless Marine is the way to go.
