I picked up a 20 that needs a major overhaul, going through the boat and in the forward storage compartment is a? Not sure what its for maybe anchor storage? Does anyone know?

Anchor locker is correct.

Yes it's a Anchor Holder. Post some more pic's of the boat.

That looks like a serious anchor block! I have a 20' Cigarette and space is always at a premium. I decided a Fortress aluminum collapsible anchor in a bag worked for me. It is light and compact. Have fun with the new boat "HIGH"! Please post some photos of the new girl.

Congrats on the new baby. (Is that the one from Arnold, MD?)

Here some more pictures. How hard is it to split the hull from the deck? I think I need to do a full restoration to this one.

once you gut it, there is lots of tabbing under the deck once you get the screws out. you can get most of it from crawling underneath, you cant sawzall it as the top deck actually has a lip that comes over the hull and is screwed.

I wouldn't remove the deck. The floor section above the gas tank was a real pain to remove. There are glass tabs that I had to cut out to replace the 40 gallon tank this past summer.

Would not do this if you dont have to !!

Good Luck with your project.

mine was split and totally redone bow to stern, i now have a 75 gallon tank that fits in the same spot as the other, just a little longer and a little deeper netted me 15 additional gallons.

not to terribly bad, as Rob said most of the tabbing isnt to tough to get at. Once the foot well if out you can access most of it, you WILL need the deck of because it DOES need stringers . . . they all do. :D

There really isnt much holding these decks on, at least the ones I've seen. Just some tabbing slapped on hear and there and a bunch of screws around the shear. It allows you a ton of working room instead of standing on your head trying yo get to things.
