Default Nauti by Nature Cigarette 38 Top Gun Refresh!!

Thought I would post my progress with the boat as I do the new engines and trans! A few people have asked me to post on here and I figure it wouldn't hurt to get all the work documented!

While the engines were out we took the boat down to the painter to have the side logo's put on.... The last owner Robert never had them put on..... IF you look at the driveway picture you can see what it looked like without them. We think it looks more streamlined now!!

Engines on the stands.

Removing everything to get the trans off

After inspecting the engines and finding the wrong valve train components for Dart Pro 1 heads and push rods that were to short We decided to redo the engines. The guides were worn out and the heads were sent to Dart for a rebuild. Hopefully Chief will make things right with Robert (the last owner) since the heads only had 15 hours on them since Chief installed them....

New Lifter Oil Spray Bar Mock Up. (Machine shop will machine the holes in the block for the spray bar!)

Squared off the front and rear oil drains so Lifter Oil Spray Bar would sit on the block better.

Blocks go to the machine shop this week!! They will get measured/bored for New Custom pistons. Everything will get balanced. All specs will be measured then back home so I can assemble everything!!

I am also converting the Mark IV block to Gen 6 Cams/Timing Chain!!

I will post pics of everything when I get them back from the machine shop

Now for the reason we pulled the engines out!!

This was the trans that was locked up, (These are 11 Clutch 72C trans).... I found that the locked up trans had a BAM clutch hub (the good trans had a Huber Hub) The Bam hub is solid with no oiling holes. I feel that is why the clutches didnt last as long as Hubers So I switched it to a Huber Clutch Hub.... Now both trans have identical parts in them!!!!!

Removing the BAM hub

The New Huber Hub (I had to sweet talk Earl Zimmer from Huber to get this thing!! Thank you for taking care of me Earl!!!)

Everything Cleaned and damage assessed! Ordered new High Performance Graphite Forward Clutches, New Steels (11 clutch set up) and Gasket kits. I bought everything from Huber! You can see the Huber clutch hub installed!

Here is a BAM & Huber clutch hub comparison.... Huber Hub has around 15 oiling holes around the Hub to help get the hot oil out and away from the clutches.... The Bam is solid and I feel that is why the clutches didn't last as long.....
