38 Top Gun Pad

Has anyone made a Pad Bottom on a Straight Bottom Notched Transom Top Gun?
Wondering what would be the difference in top speed?

I think I'd at least do a V pad like Fountain does. Or a delta Pad. It just seems that a big flat pad on Cig is going against what it was made to do
