It only has two colors black and silver (kinda of a charcoal) Heres some detail of the logo, to leave the contrasting colors off i did a little treatment on the number one to give some dimension.

'This was a very clean well kept boat to begin with other then the hideous (90's) paint job. It was kept as close as possible to the new red and white one with a few variations (slightly pointier and no white divide in the front deck color) .

The pics of just the boat look like they were took in black and white lol

airshares 07-23-2013 11:01 AM

Its the dark silver and white one.

thanks, these age great boats to restore. Kinda like the equivalent of a 67 Vette for the water. Pretty timeless . . . . and shiny to lol  . . . . been so long since i started any threads i gotta get one going on both of them in the paint section. I actually did a time lapse video of laying out stripes/logos and painting this one, was actually pretty cool but i gotta figure out how to edit. I like the yellow on yours is that from the factory?

No it had the 2000 I don't know what you would call it, I guess splash paint scheme, mine was one of 4 painted the same way, but I did keep it the same colors though, well made the yellow a little brighter and the green a little darker,,,,it time for a change here's some before and after...sorry for the little hijack Airshares..

Pic of one of my dash caps and how it mounts. The entire assembly comes off with two plug groups of weatherpak connectors, the port are female and starboard are male so the cannot be mixed up. The dash was re wired and cleaned up quite a bit from how they use to do things, what a spaghetti factory lol. This cap fits directly over where the original face plate went and allows for a plotter/gps to go where the old compass was, the trim switch plate was trimmed off the old dash and re mounted in the same location.

Spicy 09-03-2013 09:12 AM

Very Nice... I like the dash and the new paint!!!

mmb 09-03-2013 11:46 AM

glassdave 09-03-2013 01:17 PM

Garmin 740S

Dave,
Is that the biggest unit that will fit in the dash panel?

I think there others that fit but they make a big jump in pricing to get into a larger one. The 740 has some real nice features and seemed to fit pretty good.

Looks great! If you don't mind me asking how long did Tres own it. I'm planning on taking his course this spring in my 94 Gun at LOTO

glassdave 10-03-2013 09:55 AM

I believe Tres just brokered it.

I have a whole line of cool Cig bling molds i developed just for 87-99 Guns. Dash caps for both sides, late model Twin Step hatch that fits older guns, naca ducts for the sides and i just did a fiberglass seat back that works on the factory TG bolster. XT is doing a whole bolster for this boat though, its badass and looks like the ones in the new Cig 90.

I see you hav a TS, i will look at my friends 02 this weekend and see if the cap could be made to work on that dash.

mmb 11-25-2013 01:43 PM

Any Updates? You get the interior in yet Dave? Looking forward to seeing the finished product!!

Drake22.250 11-25-2013 02:42 PM

Damn Dave dash panel looks great. Have you ever messed with a 85 mistress dash?

Interior should be done shortly, we've been working through replicating the new style bolster seats with the hard shell backs. Coming out pretty cool. The above pictured seat back was revised a couple times to a more narrow sportier look but that one is still available and can still be used with the original Cig bolsters if one desires.

Greg I've done some Mistress dashes but not a full custom like this. I've been asked if this one could be used on others and i would suppose so with some cutting and glass'in :D

division1 01-11-2014 01:20 PM

I personally saw the boat at xt interior when I dropped off my bullet interior looks amazing Dave did a top notch job interior is really amazing as well really a head turner nice job on the resteration

302Sport 01-11-2014 01:54 PM

Dave are the cockpit dimensions from 2000 on up to the new 38's pretty much the same? I've wondered why nobody has tried to get ahold of some new blank (06 and newer) driver and passenger consoles from Cigarette. Then they could pretty easily be glassed into the boat without much fitting required. I know a lot of the boat companies will pull some pretty big pieces out of their molds for insurance jobs that require heavy glass work.

They are different enough so that nothing is a direct fit. The hatch, for example, on the 2000 and up does not bolt directly to the older deck. I took a 2001 hatch and modified it (a lot) to fit then pulled a mold. The cockpit only shares vague similarities, the dash sections alone are a full six inches wider, a retro on putting in new dash bases, if you could even get them, would be way more work then just making one or modifying one from scratch and pulling a mold (still a chit ton of work lol). The windscreen riser on the newer deck goes all the way back to the rear seat as the 99 and older terminates at the front seat with a notch. Through the last couple restos i have become an expert of the differences and what you can and cant get away with.

I'm not sure when, but Cig must have lofted new deck molds in 2000 and the again around 06 or 08 for the 38 TG

Thanks Eric,

I cannot take all the credit though, we will have some good photos to post on the whole project (start to finish) real soon now. You saw it on Thursday, we worked on it until midnight on Friday, Frickstyle was down today and spent almost 2 hours looking it over, and Glass Dave is bringing the painted fiberglass seat backs tomorrow (Sunday). The new cockpit interior design alone was a big project, then we got the go-ahead to redo the entire cabin area also!

It is probably NOT fair that everyone in Ohio is braging about Bryan's new boat that he is yet to see in person. :party-smiley-004:
